About Venango Machinery Equipment & Appraisals

Venango Machinery Equipment & Appraisals is a family-owned business founded in 1994 in Northwest Pennsylvania. Whether it’s Cat, Case, Hitachi, or John Deere—with over 30 years of experience in the industry, we know how a good piece of used heavy equipment should look, feel, and run.

What makes VME different? We look at a lot of used heavy equipment and don’t just accept every one we see. We’re choosy because we only sell machinery we would want to buy ourselves. No BS. You’re not going to hear “The tracks are 70% good!” — if they’re only 40% good.

Why? Because we value our reputation. We recognize every customer is different and every job has a unique set of needs. Our knowledge and expertise of different types and brands mean delivering what you want—the best quality used equipment available at an affordable cost.

Why? Because our reputation stands for good quality. In this day and age when business is no longer done with ‘just a handshake,’ we want you to have the confidence to say, “This machine was everything you said it would be!”

Why? Because good quality is good business. And good business is all about our reputation. And our reputation is all about our good name.

Bob, with 30+ years of experience, is a member CSA with the EANA (Equipment Appraiser’s Association of North America) & ASA (American Society of Appraisers).

We want to make your decision easy. If you need a qualified appraisal, equipment analysis, or are looking for a specific piece of used heavy equipment, Venango Machinery Equipment can help.

On-site OR Desktop Appraisals?

On-Site - OR - Desktop Appraisal ?

On-Site Inspection Appraisals

Venango Machinery Equipment & Appraisals (VMEA) provides thorough on-site inspection appraisals, also known as field appraisals. Our expert appraisers visit your location to assess the equipment firsthand. This process involves taking detailed photographs and gathering critical information such as the manufacturer, model, and serial number. We document the equipment’s condition, features, and specifications that affect its value. Adhering to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), our appraisals ensure a meticulous and credible valuation. While this inspection is limited to visible aspects without specialized testing, it offers a comprehensive and precise assessment of your equipment’s worth based on a visual review.

Off-Site Desktop Appraisals

For a more economical option, VMEA offers off-site desktop appraisals. These appraisals, also known as desk or uninspected appraisals, are conducted without a physical site visit. Instead, we rely on detailed information provided by you, including equipment lists, photographs, invoices, and other documents. Using this data, our appraisers evaluate the equipment’s value from our office, maintaining compliance with USPAP standards. Even without an on-site inspection, our desktop appraisals deliver a detailed and accurate valuation, provided the supplied information is comprehensive and well-organized. This method is an efficient alternative when an on-site inspection is not feasible, ensuring you still receive a professional and precise appraisal.
